Pavlov experimented on a dog while Watson experimented on a baby. Their outcomes are similar because they each show the result of a reward or a punishment given.

Pavlov experimented on a dog. He used the ringing of a bell as a stimulus to see if he could make the dog salivate. At first the bell was rung and the dog was given food. Pavlov repeated this couple of times until the dog would salivate right when it heard the bell being rung. After this, Pavlov, rung the bell but no food was given. The dog would still salivate after a few rings. The dog learned that no food was given so it stopped salivating. The reward the dog was given made him learned that when the bell was rung there was food. After the dog learned that when the bell was rung it awaited for food that when no food was given the ring of the bell became just another noise in the air.

Watson experiemented on a baby known as little Albert. Watson researched that the response we learn are due to our environment. Little Albert was shown different types of animals and he was not scared by any of them . Since he wasn't scared, Watson gave the boy another animal but a big bang was heard on the side. The bang that little Albert heard caused him to be scared. Watson showed Albert another animal and the bangs once again frighten Albert. Little Albert only had to see something furry that resembled an animal to be frighten.

Both scientist showed that something small can cause a change in behavior. Each scientist showed a different experiment to see the response to the smallest change in the environment.

Assignment #2 Reading Scatter Plots and Understanding Correlations

It is very interesting to see the relationship between two things most of us don't pay attention to. The graph shows that there is a small realtionship between the two factors but it is not constant. There is a negative and positive correlation because the two factors were not constant throughout. The graps tells us that the height causes shoe size to change. Correlation doesn't imply casuality in the graph because eventhough there is a small relationship; it is not the cause and effect relationship.

In the second graph , it is very obvious that there is no correlation. The graph shows that there is no relationshio between the height of a person and the length of their hair. Even if some of the data points were taken out there would still be no correlation because there is no relationship between the two factors. Probably the reason why there is no relationship is because of the gender, many girls like to have long hair and guys usually have shorter hair.

How do you feel about blogging? assignment #1

Creating this blog was easy and fast. I have had other bloggs before but rarely checked them. This blogging site seems very familiar. I am not a pro at bloggs because they seem very confusing in some ways. Blogs don't really seem interesting because it's public. I don't really like others to see what i write because i think its only pertains to me.

A blog for AP Psychology seems very unique because it is something new and different. I do think it will help us do a high quality of work for many reasons. one of them is that we won't have to write in paper and since most of us use the computer a lot it is easier and faster.

The idea that teachers and other students can see our work makes me nervous because i like to keep my work private. I also think that it is interesting what others have to say about our work. Constructive critism helps us become better writers and helps us to be more open in our writing.
